ZeniMax, the parent company of Bethesda, has officially filed the trademark for the term "Redfall" - and many fans of The Elder Scrolls series are sure it has something to do with their beloved fantasy saga.
According to the filed trademark, the Redfall term is in regards to “game software for use with computers and video game consoles.” It was filed for one the 10th of September, since then Bethesda's fanbase has been rife with speculation.
The Elder Scrolls community have staked claim of the term considering that Bethesda revealed during their E3 conference, back in June, that they are indeed working on a sequel to the immensely acclaimed Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Before Skyrim's official unveiling, almost a decade ago, a similar situation occured regarding ZeniMax's trademark of the term "Skyrim" - history could well be repeating itself.
Many have pointed out the similarities between the terms "Redguard" and "Daggerfall", a race and location within the world of Tamriel respectively. Another point of note is that, within the currently canon world of The Elder Scrolls series, the term Redfall has never been uttered. As each Elder Scrolls game features a location as its title; many have pointed out that before Skyrim, the location "Morthal" didn't exist within Tamriel either.
What do you think of the name: The Elder Scrolls VI: Redfall? If it were official would you approve?
The Elder Scrolls VI doesn't currently have a set release date.
