The PC version of Phantasy Star Online 2 will launch on PC on May 27, SEGA announced. It will be available through the Microsoft Store.
The free-to-play game has been available on Xbox One since last month. Both the Windows PC and Xbox One versions will be cross-play compatible.
The western release of the popular online action RPG has been a long time coming and includes Episodes 1-3, which features over three years' worth of expanded content updates as well as balancing and quality of life improvements from the Japanese service. It will also feature fully localized text and character voices in English.
"We're thrilled to announce the long-awaited arrival on PC," said Fred White, PSO2 TEAM North America's Head of Marketing. "There's a loud and passionate PC fanbase who has been patiently waiting for the North American version – we can't wait to welcome them in. There will be login bonuses waiting for them with more surprises planned in the coming months."
But while fans can look forward to the PC version releasing later this month, Xbox One players have the first in-game collaboration going on right now. The Hatsune Miku-themed collaboration features special items in the Scratch Ticket Terminal. Players can use Arks Cash Scrash Tickets to purchase special clothing and accessories inspired by Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, and Kagamine Rin & Len.
Described as a "never-ending quest that awaits you," Phantasy Star Online 2 invites players to explore numerous worlds, taking on missions, playing Casino mini-games, attending live stage events, or simply hanging out and socializing with others in the Alliance Quarters. In creating your character, you'll have four unique races and nine classes to choose from. Once in the game, you can party with up to eleven others to take on some of the more difficult battles and boss fights.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is available for Xbox One. It will launch for WIndows 10 on May 27 in North America.
