There's no doubt that Star Citizen is a huge success as Chris Roberts' simulator is already the most crowd-funded game in human existence. After its initial round of crowdfunding finished back in 2012, leaving developer Cloud Imperium with $6.2 million in funding, it’s gone on to raise over $184,731,621 with more than 2 million funders, meaning that Star Citizen is currently the fourth most expensive video game in history right after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Grand Theft Auto V and Star Wars: The Old Republic. Sadly, originally slated for a 2014 release, Star Citizen has been delayed countless times, sliding from 2014 to 2015, then to 2016 - now it no longer has an expected release date.
Star Citizen Alpha 3.2.0 is the latest update that includes new gameplay mechanics, new group systems, quantum linking, remote turrets, several new contents such as ships and weapons, and various other gameplay improvements and bug fixes, also adding the mining gameplay mechanic to the moons of Crusader (Daymar, Yela, and Cellin) and new outlaw and lawful "destroy probe" missions.
Roberts Space Industries, a made up spacecraft manufacturer within the ever-growing universe of Star Citizen and its companion mode Squadron 42, starring Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour), Mark Hamill (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) and Gillian Anderson (The X-Files), has released an Around the Verse overview trailer that spotlights the biggest new features coming in the new update. Check it out down below:
