MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries was announced in 2016 as a triumphant return (after almost 15 years) of the story-driven games set in the
BattleTech universe. Players will work as titular mercenaries to complete missions and contracts. With every success, you're getting more experience and your actions will cause different consequences. What's the best, you can play the game with up to three friends.
It looks like studio Piranha Games is slowly finishing supporting
MechWarrior Online to focus on
Mercenaries. The latest gameplay trailer published by IGN features plenty of destruction that would even make Michael "
Transform and Roll Out" Bay proud. According to the developer, every one of its unique mech chassis has 11 different body parts, areas like the arms, legs, and head have three different visual damage states, so as they get individually battered, they’ll start visually breaking down and eventually breaking apart.
The visual damage your mechs take doesn’t just stay on the battlefield either. When you get back to your dropship, you can walk around on the ground and see all damages that’s been dealt to your machines. Fixing your mechs isn’t just about filling up a health bar between missions as you’ll actually be able to see the repairs progress. Check out the laud (the narrator's voice is painful) trailer below:
The year is 3015. The Great Houses of the Inner Sphere have been waging bitter war for over a century. While the battlefields burn with an array of devastating weaponry, none is more formidable than the BattleMech. Skilled Mercenaries have never been in greater demand, and you aim to make your mark.
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is set to release sometime this year.
