The next chapter of
Warframe's Fortuna update has arrived on PC today. Dubbed
"Fortuna: The Profit Taker," today's update to the open-world expansion that arrived a few months ago introduces new missions, big guns, the new Baruuk Warframe, and more.
With today's update, you'll be traveling back to the icy planet of Venus where the Nerf has the entire Vallis on lockdown. With supply lines cut off and no one able to enter or leave Fortuna, it'll be up to you to take down the massive, mechanical spider-boss, the Profit-Taker. But before you can do that, you need to work with Solaris United to gain the intel and tools you'll need to take down the Orb Mother.
To aid you on this dangerous mission, you'll be able to - for the first time ever - acquire the Archwing's big guns for Warframes on-foot. These were previously available to equip only in space, but now you'll be able to use them in any mission.
Also new in today's update is Baruuk, the Reluctant Warrior, the game's 38th Warframe. Though a pacifist by nature, Baruuk's calm manner "erupts when he's pushed to the edge."
Here are his abilities:
-
Elude: Dodge all incoming projectiles, but only while not attacking. Edge closer to the brink with each projectile dodge.
-
Lull: A calming wave slows enemies until they fall into a slumber. Enemies woken by damage will be confused and disoriented.
-
Subdue: Summon a bevy of orbiting daggers to seek out enemy guns, destroying them with a small explosion. Combine with Untouchable to double the range.
-
Serene Storm: With his Restraint eroded, Baruuk commands the Desert Wind to deliver powerful radial strikes with his fists and feet. Each moment commanding the storm restores his Restraint.
Fortuna: The Profit Taker includes three new Echo-Lures to save new species in the Vallis. This will reward you with new Floofs and a Conservation Badge.
You'll also have access to new Operator Amps and Arcanas, weapon and customizations like hairstyles and Ventkid Cosmetics, and a whole new set of weapons, mods, and customization (including new shotguns, whips, revolvers, shields, Syandana, alt helms, and more).
Fortuna: The Profit Taker is the first major update to Fortuna, Warframe's open-world landscape on Venus, already available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox One. Fortuna thrusts players into a fresh new set of activities, storylines, and challenges: Tenno can dash across the frozen tundra on the Bondi K-Drive Hoverboard, on foot, or via Archwing to explore caves, mountains, and mushroom forests, conserve rare local animals from extinction, fight battles against spider-like Raknoids, and face off against the greedy Corpus faction. Come visit us on Venus, it's free!
Warframe's
Fortuna: The Profit Taker update is only available on PC right now, but will be coming soon to Xbox One and PS4. Meanwhile, the first
Fortuna update will arrive on Nintendo Switch in 2019.
