World War 3 is currently being developed by the creators of Necrovision, Painkiller: Hell & Damnation, and last year’s sleeper hit Get Even from The Farm 51. The military FPS mixes the PvP and PvE gameplay mechanisms as a source of new ideas for the online shooters genre and players tired of watching Call of Duty and Battlefield every year as World War 3 sounds more and more like a reasonable alternative.

According to the developers, World War 3 will be powered by Unreal Engine 4 and will support up to 64 players in a match. The shooter will feature to basic modes which will be available in Steam Early Access this Fall, Warzone and Recon. The Recon mode goes full PUBG and "features a fresh approach to the battle royale genre" where squads of players are tasked with capturing high-value targets.

The Warzone mode features large-scale combined arms battles with infantry, armored vehicles and battle drones. The devs have confirmed that helicopters may be introduced during early access and jets will act as support strikes / score streaks. Last but not least, the game won’t feature any AI bots.

World War 3 is a multiplayer FPS set in a global military conflict taking place in the third decade of the 21st century. The emphasis is put on offering true-to-life modern battlefield, and combat focused on teamwork. We aim at offering authentic tactical combat operations in an unpredictable theater of war, striving for top playability and an authentic experience.

World War 3 will enter Steam Early Access this Fall.
