Metal Slug XX was announced at this year's PAX Event where SNK revealed that the game, which is a port of
Metal Slug XX initially released on the PSP, was coming to the PlayStation 4. The game would only be available through the PlayStation Network as there were no plans for a physical release. Today we got a launch trailer for the game and an official date for its release.
The game will officially be available on the
29th of May and will come with a couple of extra features that will likely please fans of the franchise. Since it is on the PlayStation 4,
Metal Slug XX is compatible with 1080p, and 4K displays that will make the graphics look sharper than ever.
Keeping the classic features from the original game on the PSP,
Metal Slug XX features a total of 7 stages with branching paths with a variety of maps and enemies. The game also features 7 playable characters that include the original main protagonists Marco Rossi and Tarma Roving,
Metal Slug 2's Eri Kasamoto and Fio Germi, and
The King Of Fighters characters Ralf Jones, Clark Still, and Leona Heidern. Metal Slug XX also features local and online Co-op, over 70 missions, and has implemented over 30 PS4 trophies.
