Dreams is an upcoming title developed by Media Molecule and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment coming exclusively for the PlayStation 4. For anyone not familiar with Media Molecule, they are the developers responsible for games like
Tearaway Unfolded and the
LittleBigPlanet series.
The premise of
Dreams is quite simple as it is a games-making tool that allows players to make their very own games using the game's interphase—providing players with a vast array of tools that can modify their game's appearance, add music, and create their very own characters using 3D models.
During this year's E3, Alex Evans—technical director at Media Molecule—gathered some ideas and story elements by asking some of the developers to tell a story based on the premise he himself proposed, as well as the game's title:
The Adventures of Mega Penguin, who lands from space in a giant egg. Needless to say, the game ends up having quite an interesting story as the developers offered random ideas that the came out with on the spot.
Dreams looks like a very creative game, much like all of Media Molecule's games in the past, and it seems like it's gearing up to becoming one of the most memorable games in recent years. The game is only limited by the pleayer's own creativity, and games like
Dreams tend to be quite interesting because of that concept alone.
