According to Media Molecule,
Dreams is a space where you go to play and experience the dreams of the developer and their community. It’s also a space in which you create your own dreams, whether they’re games, art, films, music or anything in-between and beyond. But what does it mean?
PlayStation Blog recently had a chance to check out a 45-minute demo with creative director Mark Healey. According to Blog's Justin Massongill, "
Dreams is a fully featured game creation engine that anybody with a PS4 and a copy of the game will be able to dive straight into, no game dev experience required." To make a long story short,
Dreams allows players to create & share user-generated content.
The possibilities are pretty much endless. Even
Dreams’ full-fledged story campaign was built completely within the game itself, using the exact same tools players will have access to when
Dreams finally launches. “
In order to make a games-making tool, you need to make a game,” Healey said. No word on a release date just yet, but there will be a beta for
Dreams happening later this year.
