Vampyr is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by DontNod—the same people responsible for
Life is Strange and
Remember Me—coming for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
The game takes place in London during the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic—which is actually quite inspired, and the perfect setting for a vampire story—where players take the role of Dr. Jonathan Reid who has turned into a vampire and struggles to keep his Hippocratic Oath due to his newfound needs as a blood thirsty undead.
In this new launch trailer for
Vampyr, Dr. Jonathan Reid finds himself in a dilemma because he knows he needs to kill in order to survive, but as a doctor he also vowed to protect lives, which leads him to carefully choose his victims. He knows that there will be consequences for his actions so he must choose carefully, especially because some of those lives may also be vampires struggling with the same choices.
London, 1918. You are newly-turned Vampyr Dr. Jonathan Reid. As a doctor, you must find a cure to save the city’s flu-ravaged citizens. As a Vampyr, you are cursed to feed on those you vowed to heal. Will you embrace the monster within? Survive and fight against Vampyr hunters, undead skals, and other supernatural creatures.
Vampyr will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on the 5th of June.
