Earlier today, PlayStation and Sucker Punch surprised players by announcing tht the critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima will be getting a co-op multiplayer mode, in the form of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and that said mode will be released at an unspecified date this Fall.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will actually be added to the base game as a free update, although players will need a PlayStation Plus subscription in order to play it, since this is an online mode; one that will be giving players even more replay value to the already beefy action-adventure title.
Considering that this new co-op multiplayer mode will be added to Ghost of Tsushima for free, it is natural for players to wonder whether there's a catch to it; you know, maybe Sucker Punch decided to add in some of those pesky microtransactions that benefit online players who are willing to pay more for extra content.
For those worried about Ghost of Tsushima: Legends featuring microtransactions we have some great news, as Sucker Punch has recentl confirmed that there won't be any microtransactions of any sort in this new co-op multiplayer mode; everything will be unlocked via gameplay.
"There are no microtransactions in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and we have absolutely no plans to add them. All of the content is unlocked through play," revealed Sucker Punch, via a PlayStation representative, after IGN reached out to them for comments on the possibility of this mode featuring microtransactions.
Sucker Punch had already managed to get players excited for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and the developer confirming that this new mode will not be featuring any microtransactions is a testament to their commitment to the game itself, and players will likely show their appreciation by supporting the game.
