During a recent interview with Dengeki PlayStation magazine, Shuhei Yoshida — president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worlwide Studios — talked about the PlayStation 5, and how easy it seemingly is for developers to develop games on the Sony's new hardware.
According to Yoshida, developers themselves have told him how easy it is to develop games for the PlayStation 5; revealing, even, that the PlayStation 3 was the most difficult console to develop games for in the history of the PlayStation brand.
The PlayStation 4 was, according to Yoshida, a console that they made specifically easy to develop games for after they learnt their lesson with its predecessor.
Not only have they seemingly succeeded in making the PlayStation 5 a user-friendly piece of hardware for developers, as Yoshida reveals that developers have said they never worked on a console as easy to develop on as the PlayStation 5; quite the statement, to be fair.
The PlayStation 5 hasn't even been revealed yet, but we do know that it will release during the holidays in 2020, and that a bunch of developers are currently working on games for it. If the console is as easy to develop on as Yoshida's sayings lead us to believe, Sony might have the upper hand as far as the next generation of consoles is concerned.
