Now that the wait is over and
God of War has officially released worldwide, how are you faring up against those viscious Norse enemies?
If you're having a bit of trouble or can't quite seem to get the hang of the in-game combat, don't worry as Lead Systems Designer Vincent Napoli and Senior Technical Designer Mihir Sheth will teach you the basics and some advanced techniques to get the most out of that Leviathan Axe, Kratos' shield, and Atreus' arrows.
In the video they talk about how to build up the
Stun Meter by using barehanded attacks on enemies, or Atreus' arrows, so Kratos stun-grab the enemies and take them down quickly.
They also mention the set ups that Kratos can create by throwing his axe at some enemies, get them frozen, kick them into other enemies and just keep fighting other enemies before calling the axe back. It all comes down to the player's creativity in combat and how to get the most out of specific situations since no fight will be the same as the next one.
Another interesting tip is that by keeping a combo going Kratos will get some
Permafrost on his axe, which will apply frost to the enemies with every hit he lands, which will also increase damage.
The possibilities are pretty much endless so hopefully this video will help players get some ideas to up their combat game and defeat their enemies quicker and easily while they're out slaying monsters.
His vengeance against the Gods of Olympus years behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse Gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive…And teach his son to do the same. This startling reimagining of God of War deconstructs the core elements that defined the series—satisfying combat; breathtaking scale; and a powerful narrative—and fuses them anew.
God of War is available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 right now.
