Currently sitting at a a rather disappointing 72% score on Metacritic, Bend Studio’s PS4-exlusive
Days Gone is no
Marvel's Spider-Man (87%),
Horizon Zero Dawn (87%), not to mention
God of War (94%).
While
Days Gone is by no means a disaster, it surely is a far cry from some of the Sony-produced games. Given that some critics don't pull and punches calling
Gone a miserable experience that feels like a big waste of time after playing it for a couple of hours, the fact that the Japanese company has still released an accolades trailer flaunting all the "great reviews" the game is getting is... questionable.
In
Days Gone, you play as Deacon St. John, a sole survivor who is forced to face undead armies of different sizes, starting with groups of 50 beasts, leading to "proper" hordes of over 500 zombies.
Without further ado, be sure to take a closer look at
Days Gone's own accolades trailer down below:
At its core, Days Gone is about survivors and what makes them human: desperation, loss, madness, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood, regret, love—and hope. It's about how, even when confronted with such enormous tragedy, hope never dies. Play as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter facing a brutal struggle for survival while searching for a reason to live.
