Back in April,
Days Gone became exclusively available for the PlayStation 4. The third-person zombie game was open-world in nature and narratively-driven. Despite critically not having the legs that Bend Studio probably wanted,
Days Gone still performed pretty well in terms of sales —
maintaining the top spot in the UK charts for at least three weeks.
Therefore, it makes a bit of sense that Bend Studio don't want to abandon the franchise but rather continue developing it further. Director Chris Reece recently participated in an interview with
GamesRadar in which the topic of a sequel came up.
Reece didn't go as far as to confirm that such a thing is in the works or will certainly happen. However, the director did say that Bend Studio would love to continue expanding the fictional and apocalyptic world of
Days Gone.
"Oh yeah, it is certainly a passion of ours, and that's what we've always wanted to do. This is a world that we want to keep breathing more life into, and explore many, many different avenues," Reece spoke about the possibility of a
Days Gone sequel.
"So who knows, we'll see!"
Set in the beautiful, volcanic scarred high-desert of the Pacific Northwest, Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game where you play as Deacon St. John, a Drifter and bounty hunter who would rather risk the dangers of the broken road than live in one of the “safe” wilderness encampments.
Days Gone is exclusively available for the PlayStation 4.
