Bend Studio, the renowned developers responsible for the
Syphon Filter series,
Resistance: Retribution, and
Uncharted: Golden Abyss, has officially announced on Twitter that their next major thing, PlayStation 4 exclusive
Days Gone, has finally gone gold, which means that development is complete and the zombified open-world video game is ready for manufacturing ahead of its 26th April debut.
"
It's been quite the ride and we can't wait for you experience our game on April 26," the studio said on Twitter today. As a reminder,
Days Gone was originally supposed to hit stores on February 22nd, but Sony has decided to delay the release and avoid clashing with other big-budget titles (such as
Jump Force, Metro: Exodus, Anthem, Crackdown 3, and
Far Cry: New Dawn) that debuted last month.
Days Gone was announced during Sony's E3 2016 media briefing. In the third-person action game, you play as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter who's facing an uneven struggle for survival while desperately searching for a reason to live. The PS4 project’s story picks up several years after the fatal outbreak of a deadly virus has ravaged the US and changed its proud citizens and animals into mindless monsters.
At its core, Days Gone is about survivors and what makes them human: desperation, loss, madness, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood, regret, love—and hope. It's about how, even when confronted with such enormous tragedy, hope never dies. Play as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter facing a brutal struggle for survival while searching for a reason to live.
Days Gone will be available for PlayStation 4 on April 26, 2019.
