Considering that Sony's PlayStation 4 has recently been enjoying a true resurgence with plenty of high-profile video games available exclusively on the console (titles like Horizon: Zero Dawn, Spider-Man, and God of War), there's a big chance that Bend Studio's Days Gone will continue that hot streak.

With Days Gone finally releasing on Aril 26, 2019, we will definitely learn more about the zombie sandbox in the coming days, but the PlayStation Access crew has already shared over 6 minutes of all-new gameplay footage from the game. The new video, titled "21 Things You Didn't Know," is focusing solely on the shooter's core gameplay mechanics, brutal universe, and zombies – hordes of zombies.

According to Bend Studio, the main protagonist Deacon St. John will be forced to face plenty of undead armies of different sizes, starting with smaller groups of 50 so-called Freakers, leading to "proper" hordes of over 500 zombies. Given that Saber Interactive’s World War Z is similar to Days Gone in many ways, it will be interesting to see which studio will do a better job when it comes to making killing the undead enjoyable, as both titles will allow the player to fight around 500 braindead creatures at once.

Be sure to learn more about Bend Studio's Days Gone in the all-new gameplay footage down below:

At its core, Days Gone is about survivors and what makes them human: desperation, loss, madness, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood, regret, love—and hope. It's about how, even when confronted with such enormous tragedy, hope never dies. Play as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter facing a brutal struggle for survival while searching for a reason to live.

Days Gone will be available for PlayStation 4 on April 26, 2019.
