Back in January of this year, Square Enix announced that the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake was being delayed, and would not be meeting its original release date — which would've seen the highly anticipated title launching on the 3rd of March.

Thankfully, Final Fantasy VII Remake was only pushed back a month, and is now scheduled to release on the 10th of April for the PlayStation 4; consequently, the PC version of the game — which was expected to release a whole year after the PlayStation 4 version becomes available — was also pushed back.

For those unaware, especially since Square Enix hasn't really done a great job letting people know about this, Final Fantasy VII Remake is only part 1 of what is expected to be a trilogy; details on it being two or three games are also not clear, by the way.

During Square Enix's financial results briefing for this month, president Yosuke Matsuda was asked whether Final Fantasy VII Remake being delayed would affect, in any possible way, the release schedule that the developer had originally planned for the remaining parts of Final Fantasy VII Remake, to what Matsuda simply replied with a "No, it will not."

At this point, we have no reason to question what Matsuda is saying, especially since Final Fantasy VII Remake was only pushed back a mere month, and we still have no idea when exactly is it that the other parts of the game will be releasing; whatever the case, it's still good news to know that they schedule hasn't been dramatically modified on account of the delay.

In Midgar, a city controlled by the mega-conglomerate Shinra Inc., the No. 1 Mako Reactor has been blown up by a rebel group, AVALANCHE. AVALANCHE was secretly formed to wage a rebellion against Shinra Inc., an organisation which is absorbing Mako energy, destroying the natural resources of the planet. Cloud, a former member of Shinra's elite combat force, SOLDIER, was involved with the bombing of the Mako Reactor. Can Cloud and AVALANCHE protect the planet from the huge, formidable enemy, Shinra Inc.?

Final Fantasy VII Remake will become available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 10th of April.
