While the PlayStation 5 hardware seems to take shape in the AMD offices, Sony could be preparing another big change in terms of the features on which its next console will be built.
As revealed by sources close to Windows Central, the company would be developing a new and much more solid online infrastructure that would improve the current one and avoid some of the problems experienced in players' connections with PlayStation 4.
PlayStation Network, the connection network that allows users to play online and download content from the internet to PlayStation devices, could improve with the arrival of PlayStation 5.
The new Sony console, which has no official release date and which would be developed together with the hardware manufacturer AMD, would launch a new, more solid, reliable and secure system with regard to its connection to the internet.
According to Jez Corden, of the aforementioned Windows Central media, it would be one of the features to be released by the new generation of PlayStation.
The infrastructure will improve considerably, and according to the reporter, it would show that Sony has not fallen asleep on the laurels after the criticism of the quality of the connection on PlayStation 4, which is in part a direct legacy of the system seen on PlayStation 3.
At the beginning of the year, the network experienced serious falls coinciding with the launch of Monster Hunter World and Dragon Ball FighterZ, something that even forced a tournament final sponsored by the brand to be played on Xbox One.
The improvements, plus a higher download speed, could also be translated into the desired cross play game, something that was already rumored.
