Netflix has really been making bank creating new original series based on video game properties. Castlevania is a fine example of what the streaming platform can deliver, and fans of Konami's vampire-hunting video game series have not been disappointed by the Castlevania animated series.
We may have some great news for fans of the stealth video game genre, as it has been reported that an animated series based on Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series is currently in the works at Netflix. What's more, sources claim that the series has already been given 2 seasons.
This information has revealed that Ubisoft and Netflix have teamed up to produce this Splinter Cell series, although none of this has been officially confirmed as of yet, so it is best to consider this news as a rumour until further notice.
According to anynymous sources, who have revealed this information to Variety, the Splinter Cell series consists of 16 episodes that will be split into two seasons, and that John Wick Creator and Writer Derek Kolstad will be both writing and producing the project.
Variety has contacted Ubisoft and Netflix to shed some light on this rumoured project, but neither has replied as of yet. Whatever the case, this is definitely exciting news for fans of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series, if true.
