Twisted Metal is a vehicular-combat video-game series which began in 1995. Its most recent instalment was released in 2012 for the PlayStation 3. However, the series is set for a resurgence as
Sony has announced that they will be adapting it into a television series.
This news came in tandem with the announcement of PlayStation Productions, Sony's new division intent on adapting their many video-game franchises into movies and shows.
Following the announcement of the
Twisted Metal TV series, many fans took to the Twitter of the franchise's creator (
@davidscottjaffe) with questions. David Jaffe promptly revealed that he was just as surprised as the rest of us to find out that a
Twisted Metal series is in development, though he's all for the project.
Firstly, Jaffe cautioned that there's always a chance that the show won't come to fruition. The developer likely mentioned this as there was previously an attempt to adapt the game into a movie back in 2012 - that project was obviously cancelled. Jaffe then mentioned that he's open to being involved with the TV adaptation should Sony want him to be.
