Finally, Activision has announced that post-launch content for their upcoming Call of Duty game will release on all platforms at the same time (via Polygon).

During the previous generation, PlayStation and PC players had to wait a month longer than Xbox players to get their hands on post-launch content. With the success of the PlayStation 4, however, Activision chose to move this exclusivity deal over to Sony. PlayStation players would receive content a week earlier than Xbox and PC players.

That system has existed for twelve years but has thankfully now been abolished. All multiplayer maps and modes for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that release after the game's launch will arrive on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on the same date.

Interestingly, though, this apparently isn't the end of Activision's partnership with PlayStation. The recent beta weekend is pointed to as an example of the deal persisting. According to Infinity Ward, those playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on the PlayStation 4 will have "an exciting Day 1 advantage." As for what that could be, we're none the wiser.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25th, 2019.
