Sony has somewhat recently revealed that the PlayStation 5 will be compatible with a vast majority of the titles currently available on PlayStation 4. We have know this for a while, but we weren't really given any specifics up until just recently; such has not been the case with Microsoft's next-gen console, however.
For the longest time, it was assumed that the Xbox Series X/S would be backwards compatible with previous consoles, but Microsoft never really addressed this appropriately until today, as Director of Program Management for Xbox Series X/S Jason Ronald recently shared new information in this particular regard.
According to Ronald, after over an exhaustive 500 thousand hours of testing, Microsoft can finally confirm that every single game on the Xbox library — which includes the original Xbox, Xbox 360, and the Xbox One — will be playable on Xbox Series X/S at launch.
Ronald reassures players that not only will this extensive catalogue of Xbox games be playable on Xbox Series X/S, but that these will also look and play better than ever on Microsoft's soon-to-be-released, and highly anticipated next-gen console.
Unfortunately, not every Xbox game will really be playable on Xbox Series X/S, as Ronald does reveal that titles that require Kinect to be played will not be available, since this device is no longer compatible with their new platform, although we highly doubt that this will be an inconvenient for Xbox players.
Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are expected to launch worldwide on Tuesday the 10th of November.
