Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair was revealed back in June ahead of this year's E3, and it is the sequel of the Banjo-Kazooie spiritual successor simply called
Yooka-Laylee; a 3D platformer/collectathon that borrowed the best elements from the game it draws inspiration from.
While the first game was a 3D platformer through and through,
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair opts to embrace the 2D platformer genre that is more in line with Retro Studios' critically acclaimed
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze; something that should make fans of the genre quite ecstatic for the game.
As
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair becomes available today for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC(Steam), Playtonic has released an exciting new gameplay trailer that shows off even more of that 2D platformer goodness that's been getting a lot of praise from critics.
