After a successful 2018 Niantic decided to go all in for their Earth Day event this year, and their have clearly paid off. Getting 145 tons of trash cleaned up with the combined help of Ingress Agents and Pokémon Trainers alike across the globe proved that they were committed to the cause.

For their hard work, Ingress Agents were awarded with higher probability for shields, multi-hacks, and heatsinks, and Pokémon Go Trainers were given increased spawn rate of specific Pokémon such as Diglett and the chance to catch the shiny version of said creature.

“We’re astounded with how much everyone involved has achieved – an effort like this highlights how much impact people can have when they work together. Players worked in groups of 1 to 2,500, alongside government agencies, volunteer organizations, and fellow community members, creating incredible impact.” - Yennie Solheim Fuller, Director of Social Impact at Niantic
