While we've had casting announcements for Legendary Pictures' live-action Detective Pikachu movie, details on the film's story remain largely under wraps. Fortunately, we still get the occasional piece of news for the video game adaptation.
Just recently, an official banner for the project was released, revealing the movie's bright logo. It doesn't provide much insight into the live-action feature, but it does show that the film will now be known as Pokemon: Detective Pikachu. No reason was given for the slight title change, but the addition of the Pokemon name was likely done for marketing purposes.
Pokemon: Detective Pikachu will hit theaters on May 10, 2019 and will star Ryan Reynolds as the voice of Pikachu. Other members of the cast include Ken Watanabe, Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Suki Waterhouse, Chris Geere, and Rita Ora.
