Great news for
Pokémon fans, as the official Pokémon Channel of Japan has recently released the very first teaser trailer for the upcoming
Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution; now officially set to hit Japanese theatres on the
12th of July.
The movie was first revealed at the very end of
Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us, which is the sequel to
Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!—the first movie in the reboot of the original series of movies that were released in the mid 90s.
While the teaser doesn't really show us much, it does have that nostalgia factor going for it as
Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution is a remake of the very first
Pokémon movie that released in 1998—appropriately titled
Pokémon: The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back.
Not only that, but this teaser trailer for
Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution also opens showing us some footage from the premiere of the original movie which, in the best way possible, reeks of the 90s.
