The first details on New Line's Mortal Kombat reboot have emerged, and while some of the classic characters appear to be faithful interpretations of their comic book counterparts, others most definitely do not!

That Hashtag Show has revealed the first character breakdowns for New Line's planned reboot of Mortal Kombat, and fans of the classic video game series may take issue with a few of the changes that have been made.

While the likes of Sonya, Kano, Jax and Shang Tsung all seem to be at least loosely based on their pixilated counterparts, Raiden will be depicted as a teenager, and there's no sign of Mortal Kombat staples Sub Zero or Scorpion.

In addition, the main protagonist will be a new character that's never appeared in any of the games: Cole Turner.
