You probably don't need us to remind you that the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie generated a lot of backlash online due to the titular character's redesign. Ultimately, the movie was delayed and we ended up with a Sonic that looked like his video game counterpart (reviews from fans and critics alike were positive, while the live-action adaptation ended up being a box office hit).
Paramount Pictures was, however, hit by a fresh round of controversy recently when a new poster was released minus the names of Colleen O'Shaughnessey and Tika Sumpter.
While James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Idris Elba, and Jim Carrey all received a mention, there was no sign of O'Shaughnessey, who voices Tails, or Sumpter (who plays Maddie Wachowski). That was despite the fact both women were heavily featured on the poster and have lead roles.
Well, the studio listened and both performers have had their names now added to the sequel's poster.
As noted, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Jim Carry, alongside new additions Shemar Moore, with Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles, and Colleen O'Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is set to be released in theaters on April 8.
