The original Red Dead Redemption was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 almost eight years ago and the wait to check out the upcoming sequel is almost over, as the title will launch at the end of the month. Following the reveal of its recent trailer featuring the game world's system, Rockstar Games shared (via Twitter) a batch of new screenshots that spotlights the wildlife of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The world of RDR2 is a home to around 200 species of animals, birds and fish, all of which behave and respond to their environment in a unique way. As our protagonist Arthur Morgan, you will have a chance to "kill them all" to craft new and helpful weapons or just sell meat, skins and parts in town, but if you're a pacifist or just simply love animals, remember that it's just an optional feature.
The screenshots below spotlight the wildlife of RDR2, including a swimming raccoon, bison, red fox, vultures, one particularly sweet cat and more. Alongside the new screenshots, Rockstar also confirmed that the second part of Red Dead's overview trailer will be released today, at 9am Eastern. With no doubt, the title looks shockingly detailed and vibrant, especially for a huge open-world project.
America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed. After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on October 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
