Red Dead Redemption 2's release is upon us and Rockstar is seemingly ready to let the world enjoy their latest title that will also bring some familiar faces back. We know that the Van der Linde gang that played a pivotal role in the original Red Dead Redemption's storyline will return in the prequel, as the players will play as new gangster Arthur Morgan who is forced to run after a robbery goes wrong.
In the last Red Dead game, protagonist John Marston was coerced into tracking down members of the Van der Linde gang he was once a part of. It's too early to tell exactly what the prequel's plot will be, but it looks like we'll see how Marston fell out of the gang from a fresh perspective. The criminal group's squad called the Van der Linde gang included Marston and Morgan in the early 1900's.
Yes, John Marston, the main protagonist of the first Red Dead Redemption will play a pivotal role in the upcoming prequel and the RDR fandom should be happy as the character's original voice actor, Rob Wiethoff, has been confirmed to be voicing him again in Red Dead Redemption 2. Check out a bunch of hi-res screenshots from Rockstar Games' upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 down below:
America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed. After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on October 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
