With over 35 hours of conent, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Dawn of Ragnarök expansion looks to live up to Ubisoft's claim of it being the most ambitious expansion in the Assassin's Creed franchise's history.
The new expansion is available now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It sees Eivor once again dive into the memories of Odin as they search for their missing son Baldr in the dwarvel realm of Svartalfheim. The realm has been invaded by the fire giant Surtr who leads an army of fire giants and frost giants. As Odin races to find their son, they also must face the looming threat of Ragnarök.
The Dawn of Ragnarök expansion adds new gameplay mechanics, inluding the Hugr-Rip. A gift to Odin from a dwarven ally, the bracer enables players to harness the power of certain enemies. This includes abilities such as turning into a raven, imbuing weapons with ice poers, or raising slain enemies to fight on their behalf.
While the Hugr-Rip does not carry over to the base Assassin's Creed Valhalla game, there are several other things that will. Eivor can access any weapons, armor, skill points, and abilities gamers find in Svartalfheim.
Dawn of Ragnarök als introduces the Arena where Odin can fight waves of enemies, gladiator style with the ability to entertain the Valkyrie named Kára for rewards. Gamers can also add Boasts - modifiers to make battle tougher - to earn better rewards.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök is now available for purchase (click here to visit Xbox.com) if you own the base game. It is also recommended that players skill level be at least 340. Skill level too low? Don't fret, the game gives new players a boost!
