Yesterday, it was officially announced that E3 2020 will not be going forward on account of concern to do with the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) that has been doing the rounds since December —
more on that here. Of course, Sony PlayStation had already opted out of the annual gaming convention but many more companies were still set to present.
We're not just talking regulars like Xbox, Nintendo, and Devolver Digital; a reputable industry insider named Jason Schreier (
@JasonSchreier) has revealed that Warner Bros. games would have made their debut at this year's E3 convention with a full-blown presentation akin to those of other studios.
It's said that Warner Bros. would have talked about their new
Batman game —
which Warner Bros. Montreal has been teasing for months now — as well as the (presumably DC Comics) project that Rocksteady has been working on for quite some time now and an actual
Harry Potter video game that has been rumoured for a long while.
How will Warner Bros. Games handle their presentation now? Well, not even Schreier is in the know — saying that it
"remains to be seen." We can only imagine that they will either put on an online presentation akin to Nintendo Direct or simply drop the trailers as they usually would have.
