Io has revealed new details on the upcoming mandatory update to Hitman, but this marks what looks set to be "the first of a series of planned major game updates that will add new content and improvements" ahead of the game's planned physical disc release on January 31st, next year. Up until now, episodes have been released monthly on the online stores for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Among the changes are the addition of an offline profile which allows players to use all of their unlocked items from the online mode in the offline mode. Some alterations are being made to the statistics page as that will now display challenge, mastery level, and overall location completion.

Opportunity completion checkmarks have also been added, making it easier to track completion for achievements or trophies linked to opportunities. The gameplay is also expected to receive some tweaks. This update goes live on all formats today, but clear plenty of space as it will take up 2.4GB on PS4, 13.6GB on Xbox One, and 2.1GB on PC. Are there any other alterations you think Io should make?
