IO Interactive Confirms - A New HITMAN Is On His Way, As The Developer Is Making “Great Progress”

The episodic nature of Hitman 2016 estranged many fans at first, even despite the upgraded and more flexible game mechanics. After one year and 7 million players later, everyone can enjoy a "standalone" version of the newest Agent 47's (bloody) adventures in the GOTY edition which gathers six episodes and adds a new one called Patient Zero.

The Io-Interactive CEO, Hakan Abrak wrote a letter (CLICK!) to all the fans and the studio's supporters, but the most interesting thing hides in the last paragraph: "One last thing about our next Hitman game; I want to let you know that we’re making great progress and we have exciting new features and some franchise firsts, which we can’t wait to tell you all about. You’ll have to wait a little longer as we don’t plan to start talking about that until some point in 2018".

The only thing gamers can do is to wait till next year, when the second season of Hitman will probably launch. If you can't wait to creatively assassinate (bad) guys, here's a quick reminder that Hitman has the GOTY edition:
