Ubisoft launched the Skell Technology viral campaign a month ago with the unlisted "
Civilian Drone Catalog" YouTube video. Since that reveal, we've learned that this fictional company is based in San Francisco, California (the exact location is which
Watch_Dogs 2 took place), created the cutting-edge camouflage tech used by The Ghosts in
Ghost Recon: Future Solider and a special
Wildlands mission, armed The Rainbow 6 (including Twitch's weapons in
Siege), and provided Fourth Echelon with drones.
While it's still unclear what Ubisoft is teasing, it looks like it has something to do with the
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series. Ubisoft Forums member MitchRapp777 recently decided to dig into the
ORDER #1024501 sheet that shows up after typing the „
epichon”, and „
15034,"combination on
Skell's website. After checking the buyer's address, we can see the delivery's exact location using Google Earth
– Versailles, and its Parterre du Nord's fountains look suspiciously similar to Sam Fisher’s goggles!
Considering that Walmart Canada had leaked a new
Splinter Cell game right before the official start of E3 2018 (and that infamous listing also included yet to be announced
RAGE 2, Just Cause 4, Gears 5, and
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey), there’s a big chance Ubisoft is indeed teasing an all-new
Splinter Cell game featuring Michael Ironside, who returned to voice Sam Fisher in
Wildlands’ Special Operation 1.
At the time of writing, Ubisoft had not revealed any plans to make a
Splinter Cell: Blacklist sequel.
