Talim, the daughter of a priestess who could control the wind to perform miracles, will return in SoulCalibur VI. Hailing from the Village of the Wind Deity, located in the Philippines during the time of the Spanish colonization, Talim first appeared in the sequel, followed by SoulCalibur III & IV. Her absence in SoulCalibur V has induced criticism from various outlets and most importantly, players.
Wielding her dual elbow blades and Wind Dance fighting style, she vowed to protect the world. Her movement and fighting style were designed around her culture and a bird-theme, emphasizing close horizontal strikes upon opponents as well as freedom of movement. It looks like Bandai has decided to tone back the series' "sexiness," and Talim dons more "appropriate" outfit, at least this time.
Talim is the twelfth character that joins SoulCalibur VI's roster, which is already pretty remarkable, featuring returning fighters like Siegfried, Ivy, Nightmare, Zasalamel, Sophitia, Mitsurugi, Xianghua and Kilik, as well as newcomer Grøh and guest character Geralt of Rivia from CD Projekt Red's The Witcher series. Bandai Namco is still in the process of teasing fighters planned to land within the game's roster.
SOUL CALIBUR VI represents the latest entry in the premier weapons-based, head-to-head fighting series and continues the epic struggle of warriors searching for the legendary Soul Swords. Taking place in the 16th century, revisit the events of the original SOUL CALIBUR to uncover hidden truths.
Soul Calibur VI is set to launch worldwide on October 19, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
