SNK's
The King of Fighters is one of those franchises fans of the fighting genre just can't get enough of. For some, the series is on par, if not superior, to the
Street Fighter series and it's been around for almost the same amount of time.
Over the years,
The King of Fighters has seen almost annual revisions, each adding new characters, bringing some old characters back, fixing some of the gameplay, and always delivering the exciting fights fans love the franchise for. The first game in the franchise was
The King of Fighters '94, which also happens to feature the beginning of one of the series' most memorable story arcs:
The Orochi Saga.
Today, SNK has announced that
The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga is now available on the PlayStation 4's PS Store.
The Orochi Saga Collection includes the first 5 games in the series, these being:
The King of Fighters '94,
The King of Fighters '95,
The King of Fighters '96,
The King of Fighters '97,
and The King of Fighters '98—all of which featuring the beginning of the franchise's most famous rivalry between Kyo Kusanagi and Iori Yagami.
The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga is the very same game released for the PlayStation 2 and it being released on the PlayStation 4 is part of the "
PS2 Games Initiative". The new version of the game includes some improvements over the original, which include color edit mode and an arranged version of the soundtrack that players can switch to anytime they want.
