A brand new gameplay trailer for
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid has been released online, putting the spotlight on Lord Drakkon, one of the video game's fully playable characters (alongside Tommy Oliver, Jason Lee Scott, and Gia Moran). According to game developer nWay,
Battle for the Grid will launch with a roster of 15 fighters, so the identities of the other 11 heroes should be revealed soon.
In the
Power Rangers world, Drakkon is Tommy "
from a world where he never strayed from the path of evil, even once Rita's spell was broken. His ambition unsated by conquering his own world, he turns his gaze towards the entirety of the Morphin Grid." In his reality, Drakkon rules an alternate version of Earth with an iron fist from a dystopian and futuristic Angel Grove, a fictional town in the US.
In the upcoming game, Drakkon is a high mobility fighter with a wide range of attack options that keeps even his most powerful opponents guessing in fear. While his style will be beginner-friendly, he's one of those "
easy to learn, hard to master" characters, as there will be several advanced techniques to learn, creating even deadlier attack sequences and combos. To make the core gameplay more accessible, the studio has reportedly taken a closer look at
Dragon Ball FighterZ and the
Marvel vs. Capcom series.
