COD: BLACK OPS 4: Here's How The Latest Update Affected "Blackout"; Nuketown Island Zombies, Bowie Knife Added

Treyarch recently provided a rundown of the latest update on the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4-dedicated subreddit. There they explain additions and changes to the "Blackout" battle-royale mode - which are now live on PlayStation 4, and will arrive on Xbox and PC in one week.

With Nuketown returning to the traditional multiplayer mode, Blackout will now feature zombies (and a Mystery Box) atop Nuketown Island - in celebration. However, that isn't the only zombies-related change to Blackout as now you'll be able to find the iconic "Bowie Knife" melee weapon, which traditionally features in the Zombies mode, presumably in the Mystery Box.

If playing in a team in Blackout, you'll now be able to check-up on how your squadmates are doing mid-game with the new leaderboard - which shows off your teammates killcount and the like.

A couple of characer missions were also made available. You're now able to unlock Mason, Woods, Menedez, and Reznov (classic characters from World at War, Black Ops, and Black Ops 2's campaigns). Stay tuned to find out how to complete the "Icons" challenges - though, if they're anything like previous character missions, you'll most likely just have to find an item relating to the character in a random location on the Blackout map.

Big news in Blackout: the Bowie Knife joins the arsenal and Zombies invade Nuketown Island on PS4, plus all players get access to the ‘Icons’ Character Missions to unlock Mason, Woods, Menendez, and Reznov! The new Team Scoreboard has been added to Duos and Quads in this update, so you can check on how your squad is performing during the match. We’ve also made an update to allow weapons to now stream in faster at the start of each match to make sure everyone gets into the action once they hit the ground running.
