Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be releasing in about two weeks and, for all intents and purposes, the Call of Duty franchise is back with a vengeance. For the first time in years, following the recent Beta event, a Call of Duty game is receiving almost unanimous praise from fans.

Despite some pushback against the decision to remove the Campaign mode; fans seem to have loved the new "Blackout" battle-royale mode and are eager to try out the new Zombies mode experiences. However, there's one mode that seems to be going under the radar and that's the "Specialist Mode". The specialist mode is basically a mini-campaign which fills you in on each specialist's backstory - and familiarises you with their playstyle.

Black Ops 3 saw the introduction of multiplayer specialists, each of which was designed with a unique voice and personality - as opposed to the generic, no-name soldiers of previous instalments. Each of them has a unique ability which the player can make use of after filling up their power meter; the power meter is filled up automatically over time, but fills up faster through earning score.

With the same specialists making a return in Black Ops 4, it seems that Treyarch are intent on making them iconic and memorable. Not only are we getting the afformentioned "Specialist Mode" but; Treyarch recently took to Twitter to announce a comic book series centered around the specialist characters. The first couple of issues are available now, totally free of charge.

What do you think of the announcement? Which specialist did/will you play as? What do you think of Treyarch's push regarding the characters?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 12th.
