Back in January, a supposed leak rocked the Call of Duty community with its claims that this year's instalment in the franchise would include a remaster of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's campaign. Of course, at the time it was just another aimless claim without much to back it, that was until now. An official ratings-board seems to have more or less confirmed the upcoming remaster.
Pan European Game Information (PEGI) recently added a listing pertaining to one "Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2 Campaign Remastered". It's believed that this remaster will come bundled with Infinity Ward's next Call of Duty title, be it Modern Warfare 4 or otherwise - much like when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was remastered and shipped alongside Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a fan-favourite within the long-running first-person-shooter franchise. Its campaign is easily one of the most memorable, however, players grew particularly fond of this instalment on-account of its multiplayer mode.
Unfortunately, it seems that the upcoming remaster will be devoid of a traditional multiplayer mode, instead opting for a battle-royale - like its predecessor, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. And what's more, its campaign apparently won't feature one of the original version's most affecting missions: "No Russian."
