In recent weeks, Activision and Infinity Ward have confirmed that Modern Warfare 2 will be this year's annual Call of Duty game. With the recent reveal of the logo and an intriguing teaser, many have begun wondering how much longer we'll have to wait for the game's official unveiling. According to new reports, it may not be that much longer.
Citing several sources, Exputer reports Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be revealed in early June. The sources claim that the reveal is expected to take place "at an event when E3 was meant to be." This could mean around the time of Summer Games Fest 2022, which begins June 9, or possibly the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12. However, prominent Call of Duty leaker, TheGhostOfHope, shared on Twitter that he heard the Modern Warfare 2 reveal railer is slated for June 2.
As for what the reveal will consist of, it's believed to be a standardized reveal trailer, which means probably just some explosive campaign footage. If that's the case, fans can probably look forward to the multiplayer portion of the game being revealed sometime in August. And it's possible that could also include a look at the new Warzone update.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be a sequel to the 2019 reboot of the beloved sub-series. It's expected to launch later this year, presumably around the holidays.
