Every month, PlayStation offers a couple of games up for free to those that are subscribed to the premium service that is PlayStation Plus. While the main appeal of PS Plus is the ability to play online, the free games and deals are a nice bonus — that we're sure nobody's going to complain about.
Last week, PlayStation announced what July's selection of free PlayStation Plus games is going to be. This month, there are three: Rise of the Tomb Raider, NBA 2K20, and Erica. You can find out more about those here. July's free PlayStation Plus games will go live tomorrow, which means that today is your last chance to get June's.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Call of Duty: WWII were the free games in June — and they're still available for free at the moment, just not for much longer.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 released back in November 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It's obviously based on the massive science-fiction franchise that is Star Wars, featuring content from all eras of the film saga. The title was quite controversial at release, due to microtransactions and loot boxes, but it's believed that DICE has managed to smooth things over since then.
Call of Duty: WWII also released back in November 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Naturally, it was the mainline entry in the long-running Call of Duty first-person shooter series. Of course, it takes place during the Second World War and includes a singleplayer campaign, online multiplayer, and Zombies survival mode.
Live the untold Star Wars story of Iden, an elite Stormtrooper, in an original single-player story. Battle on land and in space in an expanded multiplayer experience with iconic heroes and villains, thrilling space battles, and a deep progression and customization system.
Call of Duty® returns to its roots with Call of Duty®: WWII—a breathtaking experience that redefines World War II for a new gaming generation. Land in Normandy on D-Day and battle across Europe through iconic locations in history’s most monumental war. Experience classic Call of Duty combat, the bonds of camaraderie, and the unforgiving nature of war.
