The Marvel Rivals developers have unveiled a brand-new gameplay video highlighting their latest playable character, Emma Frost. Known in the comics as a powerful telepath, fashion icon, and member of Krakoa’s Quiet Council, Frost is bringing both elegance and devastation to the battlefield just in time for the Hellfire Gala event.
With the timelines fractured and Mutantkind scattered across realities, the White Queen rekindles the gala’s grandeur, welcoming new allies and old legends to the living island of Krakoa. As the Hellfire Gala returns in-game, players will have the opportunity to harness Emma Frost’s unique telepathic powers and her diamond-hard will to defend mutantkind’s dream. Check out the official gameplay video for Emma Frost down below:
Here is quick written description of her kit in text form (Not 100 percent accurate, but pretty close.):
- Emma Frost's combat style blends psychic domination with raw resilience. Her Primary Fire (Left Click) unleashes a short-to-medium range telepathic beam, growing stronger the longer it locks onto a target. With a 70-ammo capacity and 2 ammo drained per tick, it rewards steady aim and target tracking.
- Her Secondary Fire (Right Click) deploys a tactical shield, useful for creating temporary cover. The shield can be thrown at a distance and only activates after placement. Cooldowns apply both after placement and if the shield is destroyed. Players can also retrieve it manually.
- The E ability is a unique psychic projectile that, upon hitting an enemy, extracts a “totem” tied to them. Damage dealt to the totem reflects back to the targeted foe—similar in function to Adam Warlock’s soul-link mechanics.
- Her Shift ability transforms her into her iconic Diamond Form, granting her 35% damage reduction and altering her skill set entirely. In this state, her Primary becomes a four-hit melee chain, Secondary becomes a knockback kick with wall collision bonuses, and her E becomes a dash-and-slam combo that stuns enemies.
- Frost’s Ultimate unleashes her full psychic might. After a short wind-up, it lasts six seconds. Continuous hits build a control meter on enemies; once full, they are forced to walk toward her, effectively becoming puppets under her control.
Along with her grand debut and excellent kit coming to the game on the 11th, they have also showed us what her next skin will look like. Her X-Revolution skin is sure to bring some attention and turn some heads... Check it out down below.
Emma Frost joins the Marvel Rivals roster just in time for the Hellfire Gala update launching April 11th. With her formidable power and strategic versatility, she’s bound to leave a lasting impression.
