Last month,
Bethesda announced that anyone who had logged into the full release of
Fallout 76 on any platform in 2018 will receive a free copy of the
Fallout Classic Collection on PC. The giveaway is Bethesda's way of apologizing for the rough state in which they launched
Fallout 76, which is still plagued by numerous issues that the developer is working hard to fix.
In any case, if you're wanting to take a break from
Fallout 76 while these updates run their course, you can instead turn to
Fallout Classic Collection which is now available if you qualify for the entitlement.
The
Fallout Classic Collection comes bundled with all three of the franchise's classic PC games:
Fallout,
Fallout Tactics, and
Fallout 2.
To install the
Classic Collection, simply download and run the Bethesda Launcher on PC, sign into your Behtesda.net account, and you should be able to install it from there.
In this week's Vault update, Bethesda confirmed that a new patch will be landing on PC this week and consoles next week. Another patch is scheduled to drop on January 14. So while
Fallout 76 may not be the game everyone was hoping for quite yet, it seems Bethesda is locked in on delivering their initial vision.
Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of Skyrim and Fallout 4, welcome you to Fallout 76, the online prequel where every surviving human is a real person. Work together, or not, to survive. Under the threat of nuclear annihilation, you’ll experience the largest, most dynamic world ever created in the legendary Fallout universe.
Fallout 76 is now available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
