Yesterday, for a few brief minutes, the
Fortnite Battle Royale community gathered together to
witness the launch of the rocket - the first-ever, one-time only, in-game event. While most had gathered in peace to watch the rocket blast off, one player apparently saw it as an opportunity to rack up the kills. And boy, did he.
The player, Elemental_Ray, set a new record for kills in a solo match of
Fortnite Battle Royale with a whopping 48. The previous record was 33 kills, held by a player by the name Finest, according to
FortniteTracker.
So how did Elemental_Ray do it? It was quite easy, actually. And we actually have video footage of it from some of the victims.

While it sucks for those who were trying to watch the rocket launch in peace, it's a hilarious example of the type of emergent fun gameplay these sort of events can bring. If you couldn't make it to the rocket launch or were one of Elemental_Ray's 48 victims,
you can watch highlights of the event here.
