The Matrix Resurrections debuts theatrically on Christmas Eve (December 24th). It's a long-awaited follow-up to the Matrix trilogy from 1999 and the early 2000s. Keanu Reeves, best known for starring in The Matrix as well as John Wick (as well as, in the gaming sphere, as Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077) returns as Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss also returns as Trinity.

It's those two characters that will apparently be coming to Fortnite next month. Reputable leaker HYPEX (@HYPEX) declares that a crossover with The Matrix is set to take place in the back half of next month, which just so happens to coincide with the release of the aforementioned, new movie.

Of course, don't take this as confirmation, though, HYPEX has proven themselves a reputable source time and time again. For instance, they foresaw the upcoming addition of sliding to the game — more on that here. Similarly, they outed that a throwable axe weapon will be coming to Fortnite soon — more on that here.

According to other proven Fortnite sources, Neo and Trinity won't be the only iconic characters coming to Fortnite next month. It's also believed that Spider-Man will finally be swinging onto the battle royale scene with the arrival of Chapter 3, which is also set to kick off in December.
