Fortnite is just about everywhere these days so it was only a matter of time before Saturday Night Live tackled the cultural topic.
The season premiere of the sketch comedy show saw host Adam Driver, from the
Star Wars franchise, portray a clueless, middle-aged divorcé trying to learn to play
Fortnite in order to have a bonding activity with his 11-year-old son (and to be better than his ex-wife's new husband, Rick). What really makes the clip entertaining is the fact that they are playing a "live-action" version of
Fortnite, with Hedi Gardner, Chris Redd, and Mikey Day acting the parts of the video game characters.
I'm not one who typically finds the skits on SNL humorous, but I appreciate the show tackling something other than politics for once. The acting was still a little bland for my taste, but Mikey Days constant running against the wall along with the characters' jump-shooting are all pretty amusing.
Fortnite just
kicked off its sixth season of battle royale. The new season introduced a ton of changes to the map as well as a new battle pass filled with cosmetic rewards,
including the addition of pets.
