Overwatch will finally be making its way onto the Nintendo Switch on October 15th. The popular multiplayer shooter has been available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for three years now but this will be its first time on a Nintendo platform.
There are many questions that come with bringing a game over to a Nintendo platform such as how it has been optimised and made compatible with a new console — at that, one which can be played in handheld mode.
For starters, many immediately realised that now
Overwatch characters are eligible to receive an invite to compete in the
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament —

Blizzard recently revealed (via
Gamespot) that
Overwatch will run at 900p whilst docked and 720p whilst in handheld/kickstand mode. In both cases, the game will run at thirty frames-per-second. As well, the developer revealed that they currently have no plans to implement Amiibo support — meaning that, if you were looking forward to a Tracer Amiibo, you're sorely out of luck.
Join the fight for the future in the world of Overwatch® and choose your hero from a diverse cast of soldiers, scientists, adventurers, and oddities.
